Since our establishment in 2014, we’ve had the privilege of working on both one-off projects and ongoing collaborations with returning clients, architects, and design teams.

Over the years, we have manufactured a wide range of bespoke window and door solutions for many iconic projects and buildings across Edinburgh’s historic city centre. These include notable developments such as the Donaldson’s Playfair Building in the West End, the Fringe Headquarters, and the Canongate project.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The new home of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, this stunning building was originally constructed in 1886 on the grounds of the former Royal Infirmary.

In summer of 2025 we were awarded the contract to manufacture and supply sixty new replica sash and case windows, along with six external doorsets. Although we have delivered projects with a greater number of windows, this one will be remembered for its many oversized and uniquely shaped units, with the largest window measuring 3.9 metres in height.

The project also included the manufacture of doorsets designed to fit newly altered window openings, with the largest doorset exceeding 4.4 metres in height.

The Playfair - Donaldson School

This building is one of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks, dating back to the 1850s. Originally constructed as a hospital for children and in recent years has been converted into apartments whilst remaining rich in historic architectural detail.

We were initially approached by the main contractor to replicate several original mouldings throughout the building, some of which were particularly large and featured complex curved profiles. As the project progressed, we were asked to produce replica sash windows to replace those that had deteriorated, as identified during an ongoing refurbishment carried out by others. Our scope then expanded to include the manufacture of full sash and case windows, as well as casement windows to match the existing designs.

Working closely with the in-house design team, we were also commissioned to manufacture bespoke secondary glazing, fire and acoustic glazed screens, and stair treads.

The Cannon Gate Venture

We manufactured the new sash and case windows for the Cannon Gate project between 2018 and 2019.

We were particularly keen to secure the contract for this property, as we recognised the value of having our windows approved and installed in a category-listed building. Its close proximity to Edinburgh Council’s planning office made this an especially significant opportunity for our business.

Along side the sash & case windows, we also manufactured exterior doorsets and internal glazed screens.
